First designed in 1925, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is the oldest automotive model still produced today. This year, Rolls-Royce is releasing the first complete update on the model since 2003. The Phantom runs on a powerful a 6.75 liter, 563 brake horsepower, V12 engine and can hit 60mph in five seconds. Priced at $450,000 this is simply one of the most luxurious cars the world has ever seen. The exterior is smooth with hand-polished steel prongs and sharp, frosted headlights. The interior was specially designed with dyed lambswool carpet and high-gloss polished wood paneling. There is also a drinks cabinet fully equipped with a decanter, Champagne glasses, whiskey glasses, and a chiller.
Rolls-Royce has claimed the Phantom to be the quietest car on Earth, after a rigorous manufacturing process to perfect every part, involving 180 prototypes of the tires alone. The tires are filled with noise-canceling foam. The cabin floor and bulkhead have been lined with thick felt as well, making the interior 10% quieter than the previous model. In addition, the double-wishbone suspension with the air ride system makes the car run smoother than on a carpet. The Phantom is truly an impressive luxury car, equipped with anything a Rolls-Royce buyer would need. We’re excited to see how this updated version of the iconic model will bode with the luxury consumers this year.
